Most of the time you will find me in the Aquatikum, the dedicated experimental research facility at Eawag. There I take care of all the creatures from the Aquatic Ecology Department 50% of my time. The other half of my time I am the "fish master" for the Environmental Toxicology Department. Both parts of my job require a deep knowledge of the animals that are kept in the labs. I am responsible to adapt husbandry protocols, develop the according hardware and I am involved in performing experiments. For the Jokela Group I am the main contact person for maintaining snails, gammarids, worms and whichever kind of aqautic animal the group decides to work on next.
